Build a Poker TableWant to build a poker table in less than 4 hours? Then try these simple instructions. Go to your nearest hardware store and purchase a sheet of chip board. This is cheaper than plywood but will serve its purpose. Using a piece of string, draw a semi-circle at each end of the chip board. This will be the curved ends of your poker table. You can ask your hardware store to cut out this oval shape before you take it home. Take home some scrap 2 x 6 inch lumber and also purchase a set of folding table legs. Other things you'll need to build a poker table, but may have at home are, screws, staples, a saw, and a staple gun.
Since it is best to have all your supplies ready when you decide to build a poker table, you should visit your local carpet store and purchase some scrap water resistant carpeting undermat. At a fabric store purchase a 9 by 5 feet piece of fabric for the top of your poker table. A stretchy fabric works nicely for this. Once home with all your materials, you can begin to assemble your poker table. Attach two 2 x 6 pieces across the bottom of your semi-circle table to help with durability. Attach the folding table legs to these 2 x 6 pieces with screws. You may want to add more scrap wood underneath the table to add sturdiness. Place your undermatting on the floor. Center the table over the matting and start stapling the matting to the underside of the table, pulling the mat tight. You may find that making slits in the material and using plenty of staples will help the mat lay smoothly. Turn your table over and place your fabric on top. Again you will pull tight and staple this underneath, much like you did with the matting. When you build a poker table this way, you will enjoy not only the success of building it on your own, but you'll have a table that is easily stored with its folding table legs. One of the first games I recommend you try is Texas Holdem, a great and simple game to play with family and friends. But don’t forget there are many variations of poker and other card games that you can practice on the major online casino sites on the net and really brush up on your skills through these online casino games. All these games have been reviewed by the European Association for Gambling. |
