All you really need is some basic carpentry tools such as a circular saw, screwdrivers, screws, paintbrushes, and varnish or paint for when you have the unit assembled. Once you have the proper tools and all the wood it is time to start assembling and you are on the way to learning how to build a bookcase properly. You need to properly take all your measurements and then you can start assembling the bottom and sides of the unit. Once that part is finished you need to screw the top and the back of the cabinet with some sturdy yet small wood screws.
